Discover the thrilling underwater world of Candidasa, Bali with Slack Tides Divers. Located on Bali’s east coast, Candidasa is one of the island’s most exciting destinations for scuba diving, drift diving, wall diving, and pelagic marine life encounters.
Just offshore from Candidasa are the famous dive sites of Gili Tepekong, Gili Mimpang, and Gili Biaha. These small rocky islands are surrounded by dramatic underwater landscapes, healthy coral reefs, steep walls, and deep channels. The area is known for strong and changing currents, which can attract impressive marine life such as reef sharks, giant trevally, barracuda, turtles, and seasonal Mola Mola (Ocean Sunfish).
CANDIDASA MOLA MOLA DIVING
Candidasa is also known for seasonal Mola Mola, or Ocean Sunfish, encounters. These enormous ocean sunfish can sometimes be seen around the deeper reefs and cleaning areas during the right season. However, Mola Mola sightings are never guaranteed, and encounters depend on season, water temperature, currents, visibility, and daily conditions.
DIVING CONDITIONS IN CANDIDASA
Candidasa diving is famous for its exciting currents and excellent marine life, but some sites are not suitable for beginner divers. Currents around Gili Tepekong, Gili Mimpang, and Gili Biaha can change quickly and may include strong horizontal or vertical water movement. For this reason, these dive sites are generally recommended for experienced or advanced divers with appropriate experience and good buoyancy and current-management skills.

Our dive car departs from Sanur at 7:00 AM, taking you east toward Candidasa. After arriving in the area, we organize the boat transfer to the selected dive sites around the offshore islands.

GILI MIMPANG | BATU TIGA
Also known as Batu Tiga, Gili Mimpang consists of several rocky formations surrounded by beautiful coral reefs. The site offers a combination of reef slopes and walls, with opportunities to see reef sharks, turtles, schooling fish, and seasonal Mola Mola. Currents can be strong and unpredictable, so the site is best suited to experienced divers accompanied by professional local guides.
GILI BIAHA | SHARK CAVE
Gili Biaha is another spectacular dive site near Candidasa, famous for its underwater shark cave. The surrounding reef and wall provide opportunities to encounter reef sharks and a variety of tropical marine life. Conditions can be challenging, so dive-site selection and timing are carefully considered by the dive team.
